do angelfish and discus get along together
not wie to keep angelfish and discus together for sickness reasons
Wow beautiful!
i thought we were gonna discuss kissing and bullying each other lol
@kaujong once a week, and yes i vacuum. planted discus tanks require a lot of work. and if you are just starting you should really go with a bare bottom tank
Hi, I am starting 2 discus in a planted 60 gallon tank. How often do you change the water? Do you vacuum the bottom after the discus take their meal? I tried to do that but it’s getting cumbersome
@SpitRhyma no they are all local, at the LFS they are 3.99 plus 15% tax !!! but if you buy from a private breeder nearby it’s usually $2 each
@romandelis it’s the algae on the front of the glass, i didn’t scrape it. the water is clean though
nice work, but water is to dirty
@reptilerob57 cardinal tetra
Beautiful, i have a question for you, do you aspire you acuarium where the plants are planted?
beatiful tank!! congratulations, i have a question for you, doy you aspire you tank wher your plants are planted?
Hey is it possible that one of your angelfish a is wild scalare species? The 1st one w/ the faded stripes looks like my scalare kinda… only he has longer fins than mine… but I’ve seen wild angels with relatively long fins like yours…
What’s the range for angelfish in your area? Here it’s $4.99 (just out of town) – $50 — mine was a big $50 wild caught Scalare… Usually they go for around 10-15 bucks though…
can you mix angelfish with the discus?
also what are the small blue fish called?
Hey, nice tank. I was wondering. I have a 29 gallon (cycled) and I was thinking of making it a Angelfish tank. I was thinking of getting: 3 Oto Catfish, 6 Julie Cory catfish, 3 Swortails, and 2 Angelfish. I will also have a few live plants in there such as some java moss/ferns, and amazon swords. I heard that the Java Ferns are good for eggs. I also have a few rocks in the tank for hiding. Does this sound overall good? Please get back to me, Thanks. GL with your tank.
Right. Best to have no ammonia or nitrite but fish can handle low levels of nitrate. Plants will absorb nitrate and good aeration will help to oxidise pollutants.
No fish need high nitrates. They prefer all pollutants at 0. Unfortunately, factories do not agree with them .
They look pretty normal to me
nope, they are doing great
are these discus dead now… they are gasping for air……
I ment Nitrites, I had the two confused at the time. Cause I am sure that Nitrates are the bad ones and Nitrites are the good, That why I thought they need high nitrites in the water.
Nitrate levels are often regarded as the most important factors to watch, high is definetally the way to keep your fish healthy and suceptible to disease, ofcourse as long your ph level is in the lower level
LOL i have had 8 wild caught altum angels with 13 wild caught heckels in a 215 for over 6 years…..no problems. Soooo that little theory dose not always apply
hi may i know how u planted your Bacopa ? mine keep comming out from the soil…
Yikes. High nitrates!? Yes. If you want to kill the fish.
Lovely Anostomus anostomus (striped Anostomus) with red fins great fish from the Characin family.
