Frage von manoj d : can i use backside river rock for my Discus fish aquarium?
i have picked up some backside river stones for my turtle tank..i have some rocks left with me…is it ok to keep it in my discus fish aquarium…..please suggest…..

yes yes. the best way toclean them is to soak them in extremely hot water. then mix cold water,ice, and vinegar and put rocks in. let soak overnight. in the morning rinse thoroughly with warm water.
also use a water conditioner everytime you add new things to the tank. it prevents bad water levels(ammonia,nitrite,nitrate)

well if its not eating at all, then it could be an internal parasite and should be treated in a separate tank. But if it eats occasionally, then it could mean that he’s being bullied by the other discus, which was what happened in my case. But he eventually came around

Parrot fish barely tolerate each other. They will fight everything. The Discus is more docile and has special water conditioner needs. They should not be together. Please do more research.

10 inches from top to bottom and about 8 inches from front to back. They are the size of a large dinner plate. You are going to need to get at least a 200 – 300 gallon tank or they will all start to die.
Just a heads up. To give you an idea. Heres 13 discus in a 1600 gallon tank. http://i171.photobucket.com/albums/u312/plantbrain/resized1600galfeb20.jpg
You can fit maybe two discus in that tank. But they need to be in groups of at least 5.
I would either invest in a much much larger tank orw two much larger tanks.
They are going to get huge. Especially with how you are feeding them. Other than the tank everything looks great

All 3 of thee types of fish will require warm waters. If you can not have a tropical tank none of these will work.

Hello! my tank dimention is: 1meter length/35cm width/49cm height. Would you tell me how much the power of the filter should be? Because I don’t want the filter absorb all the food at once while the discus fish need the water stable (as far as I know).Thank you!

That tank is not big enough for discus that is around a 20 gallon tank you should be looking at 55 gallons plus for discus and I recommend Fluval filters

Frage von : My discus fish are laying on their side on the bottom of tank all day?
Is this normal behaviour? Only got them Friday evening but they seemed to be settling in ok yesterday they were swimming about upright. Then today they haven’t really moved, just laying on their side.
Any advice or guidance would be much appreciated.
